Year 2 trip to Mousehole

omcleod 11th October 2016

On a gorgeous, sunny morning, Year 2 enjoyed a wonderful visit to Mousehole. Having studied The Princess and the Castle,  written and beautifully illustrated by Caroline Binch, Year 2 visited Mousehole, where the story was based. We parked just outside of the village, walked along the sea front, through the streets and beside the harbour; finally arriving at the cottage where the story’s main characters lived. We then sat on the harbour beach, where Mr McLeod read the story again to the children. After this, the children worked in groups to build fantastically creative models of St Michael’s Mount; and used their senses to list the things that they could see, hear, smell and feel, around the harbour. All in all, we had a great morning’s learning!
