Trevose Class – Learning for Spring 2

omcleod 23rd February 2016

Although this is one of our shortest half terms, we have a busy few weeks of learning ahead of us, in Trevose Class. In Maths, we will be learning about number and place value; mental multiplication and division; fractions, ratio and proportion; problem solving, reasoning and algebra; measurement and statistics. In English, we are already learning how to write non-chronological reports about wolves! In a few weeks, we will also be practising our poetry and building our vocabulary. In Science, we will be learning about forces that make things move; forces that change the shape of things; and various investigations involving friction and gravity. In Topic, we will be getting creative with 3D Art and Design. We will be designing and sculpting Egyptian Canopic jars out of clay; and making papier mache Pharoahs’ masks, which we will decorate. In Life Skills, we will learn all about finance and enterprise, including: advertising, stock taking, pricing and selling; role playing shops and completing money transactions. In P.E, we will be practising Tag Rugby, Hockey and Gymnastics; and in R.E, we will be learning about Christian beliefs surrounding the Easter story. We certainly have a fun packed few weeks ahead!
