Happy half term!

hgriffiths 21st October 2015

Class 5 have had a busy first half term!

In English we have been writing our own Legends based on the story of King Arthur, we had lots of fun coming up with our own characters, we have also written biographies based on our own research!

In Maths, we have been learning a number of different things, such as, mental addition and subtraction, and column subtraction (we are all experts at that now!).

In Topic, we have been learning about our class country; India. We have learnt about the physical and human geography of India in comparison to the UK, and we have really improved our map skills!

Our Topic has linked well to our Life Skills unit this half term. We have enjoyed organising an India day for Godrevy Class! In groups we organised different activities, some of these included, an India treasure hunt around the playground, creating henna designs and learning Bollywood dance! Both classes had a great afternoon and learnt lots of new skills!

We have had such a busy first half term, the above really is just the tip of the ice berg!

We have also been lucky enough to be invited to “Hit the surf” to learn all about beach safety, and to the Minack theatre to perform on the famous Minack stage!

We will leave you with a few pictures from our first half term in class 5!

Our Children in Need Sponsored Ramble was a huge success. All children are now back at school - tired, but triumphant! Thank you to the FLS for providing drinks and biscuits. ... See MoreSee Less
