On Friday 4th November, our school football team went to Mounts Bay Academy for the EFA West Cornwall Qualifier. We were placed in a group of 5 tough teams, and with 7 of the 8 players representing our A team for the first time, it looked like a tall order. However, the boys performed really well and following a 2-1 win over Roskear in their opening game, confidence was high. Unfortunately, the next two games proved to be step too far and 2-0 losses to Alvereton and Shortlanesend left us a lot to do. The team didn’t let their heads drop though, and a 1-0 victory over St Michaels (including a penalty save from Robert Stephens), prmoted us to 3rd in our group. Unfortunately, we missed out on qualification to the semi-final by 1 point, but all in all it was a great performance.
Well done Robert Stephens, Jordan Rimmington, Sunny Finch, Jacob Basher, William Wallis, Ronan Lewis, Louis Tague and Harry Payne.Back Class's blogBack SLT Blog's blog
