Class 3 and 4 had some special visitors from Barclays Bank this week.
As part of this terms Finance and Enterprise Life Skills topic Classes 3 and 4 invited in Barclays Bank to carry out a Money Skills workshop.
Class 3 looked at what we need money for in everyday life and what we want money for. The children soon realised there were a lot of things they needed money for to be comfortable each day, such as money for shoes, money for food and electricity and money to run a house and car.
They quickly noticed there were even more things that they wanted money for, such as new toys and games and books and comics.
Class 4 looked at the role of the bank to support people with their personal finance, such as paying for bills, saving money, making a profit in business and even money fraud.
They looked at what they would do in different financial situations.
The children all enjoyed the workshop and would like to thank Barclays Bank for taking the time to come and work with us.
To continue our Finance and Enterprise unit of work, the children will be planning and carrying out various events to try to make a profit!
